BLUE DIVISION SEMIFINALS!

This is it folks! Who will move on to the Blue Division CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH!? Will it be Japan's Tamao Silver, or will it be England's Alicia Wells? That's up to you (and the fickle roll of the dice):

First, vote in the poll here:

www.strawpoll.me/13218355

Next, DISCUSS the match below. Weigh strengths and weaknesses. Compare tactics and previous matches. Do not simply state who you'd like to see win, and DO NOT INSULT EITHER FIGHTER OR HER CREATOR. Keep it competitive, but keep it FUN. Seriously.

And finally, check back at the OCWT main page for the results of the dice rolls (and overall match results) this time next week! See you then!

Alright, time to tip put my two cents in. Considering the two characters and what are they capable of.

First on the natural "stats" of both fighters. Not only Alicia is taller and older than Tamao, but she is also heavier by a good margin. Which isn't that good considering a boxer should stand out for it's weight or strength. Tamao should be sticking to speed instead, since Alicia seems to be in a healthy shape thanks to her training in MMA while keeping the superior weight. While Tamao is well known for endurance and could try to outlast her in the ring by avoiding and waiting for a chance to strike, Alicia's legs are known for her power, I wouldn't consider it impossible for Alicia to keep pressure on Tamao. If that was the case, Tamao would need to keep stand out of her range and fight carefully...

However.

Tamao is a boxer, and Alicia not only IS a kickboxer, she is also experienced in MMA. Kickboxing should be enough to handle Tamao's boxing, but Alicia's got two fighting styles that have been shown over decades that surpass boxing. One would only need go google "Boxing vs MMA" or "Boxing vs Kickboxing" to see the results.

From the description: "How would a champion boxer do against a champion kickboxer? Several boxers have stepped up to the challenge, and the results are mostly the same. The weapons they faced were in direct relation with the way they stand, move, and attack. What worked in one sport must be adapted before it becomes efficient or effective in another." Written by Lawrence Kenshin, a man who works as a analyst  and who's work has been mentioned and considered by professionals of the sport. lawrencekenshin.com/testimonia…

And that is, of course, taking notice that kickboxing, the much less aggressive cousin of MMA.

Overall, Alicia wins in height, weight and reach. Strength, speed and endurance is debatable for both fighters. But considering that one is experienced in two martial arts that surpass the other, I'd recommend Tamao to step it up and practice something other than boxing. Because even though she's got many great skills in boxing, there is so much it can do until luck runs out and logic comes into the plate.

Personally, I don't think there was a worse match-up for Tamao possible in this tournament. Alicia should be the winner of this match.
